Now Open - Wentworth Leisure Centre
Wentworth Leisure Centre's mutli-million pound redevelopment project, funded by Tynedale Council and Sport England is now open.
The new extension to the existing building houses a 25 metre, six-lane pool, a 15 metre studio pool, pool changing rooms, reception area, café and outdoor changing facility, with a new fitness centre and assessment rooms on the first floor. The studio pool is at a higher temperature and has a moveable floor, to allow flexibility between general swimming, teaching and aqua classes and to create an excellent facility for people with limited mobility.
These new facilities are in addition to the existing popular activities on offer at the centre which include a wide variety of fitness classes, indoor bowls centre, sports hall and Jungle Jacks children’s play area, offering something for everyone in a friendly and welcoming environment.
